Arch Pain
Do your foot arches feel sore and painful? Arch pain is a very common foot problem and can be attributed to a number of factors, including:
Causes of Arch Pain
• Poor or ill-fitting footwear (such as high heels)
• Over Pronation
• Foot injuries
• Plantar fasciitis
• Excessive body weight
• Tight Achilles tendons or tight calf muscles (Muscle Imbalance)
• Walk, stand, or run for long periods of time, especially on hard surfaces
• Flat feet or weakening foot arches
Symptoms of Arch Pain
Arch pain / strain refers to an inflammation and/or burning sensation located at the heel and / or arch of the foot which is often experienced with your initial steps after getting out of bed in the morning or after prolonged walks / standing. Discomfort in these areas is also referred to as Plantar fasciitis, which is caused by excessive stretching of the plantar fascia, usually due to over-pronation (flat feet). The flattening of the foot arch places more strain on the ligaments, tendons and joints that support the foot and ankle.
Research
Arch pain can be controlled by using the correct 2foot2 Orthotics / Insoles / Arch supports. The use of foot orthotics / insoles by medical professionals has been researched and tested by leading institutions around the world, and is widely accepted in the medical community as a cure for may foot pathologies and associated injuries. It is the clinical studies and field research that support the value of orthotics / insoles in preventing and treating arch pain while improving the structural integrity of the ligaments and muscles around the ankle.
Treatment / Prevention
At 2foot2 our philosophy is 'prevention is better than cure', therefore in order to minimize / prevent Arch Pain or Plantar Fasciitis, it is important to use the correct 2foot2 footcare product(s) such as our range of Podiatrist designed Orthotics / Insoles.
2foot2 Podiatrists have developed a range of ¾ and full length Orthotics / Insoles which are biomechanically engineered to reduce Arch Pain / Plantar Fasciitis by enabling total rear foot control reducing pronation, mid foot arch support, and full stabilization of the fore foot helping to correct posture, minimize lower limb stresses, and muscle fatigue.
