Company Profile

2foot2 is a Podiatric based company who have been designing and supplying bespoke Orthotic devices for healthcare professionals for over 10 years.  Having successfully treated thousands of patients 2foot2 has collated and analyzed all design information and developed their own Orthotic range to offer to Practitioners and the general public as a cost effective alternative to custom made (Bespoke) orthotics.

2foot2 only uses the highest grade materials and technologies in the production of their footcare range guaranteeing quality, durability, and product performance.

What is an Orthotic?

An 'orthotic' (orthotic insole, shoe insert or Orthosis) is a device placed inside the shoes which is designed to restore your natural foot function, therefore re-aligning the foot to its neutral position. Many lower limb complaints such as plantar fasciitis, arch, heel, knee and lower back pain are caused by incorrect foot function / biomechanics. Biomechanics is the science of movement which studies the body's movements during walking, running and sports.

In addition, orthotics are designed to allow a more even weight distribution from heel strike to toe off, reducing pressure on common sore spots such as the ball of the foot, corns between toes, bunions etc..

Why do we need Orthotics?

Our research has shown that approximately 78% of people suffer from fallen arches (flat feet, over pronation), which contributes to excessive lower limb stresses resulting in arch pain, heel pain, knee pain, hip pain and lower back pain. Pain associated with these conditions can be reduced or totally eliminated with the use of our Orthotic range.

Who will benefit from wearing 2foot2 Orthotics?

Any person suffering from foot or lower limb pain however we also advise 2foot2 Orthotics as a preventative measure to lower limb problems as they are specifically designed to restore natural foot function helping to prevent future biomechanical issues.

Over 45’s

As we age our muscles become less toned and our ligaments in the foot become weaker, therefore increasing pronation by allowing the foot to become flatter which can result in lower limb dysfunction. It is this increased pressure that also encourages the migration of fatty tissue from the heel and forefoot regions of the foot causing problems such as heel pain, heel spurs, and forefoot discomfort.

Long Days on your feet

Factory workers, nurses, teachers, people in retail and in the building industry benefit from wearing 2foot2 Orthotics as they are generally required to stand on their feet for most if not all of their working day causing tired, aching feet and legs.

Sports, Running, and Athletics

This is an area where the 2foot2 Sports Orthotic comes to life. Any Sport especially running can increase your ground reaction forces by up to five (5) times your body weight therefore exerting excessive strain on lower limb muscles, ligaments, and joints. Orthotics substantially reduce this excessive strain helping to prevent such injuries as foot pain, Achilles Tendonitis, shin splints, knee and hip pain helping to achieve a pain free sporting life.

Other Recreational Activities

Outdoor activities such as Hiking, Walking, and Skiing, are much more pleasurable when pain free. Any person involved in an activity which demands a prolonged period of muscle activity would benefit from wearing 2foot2 Orthotics as your feet are supported and stabilized improving balance and reducing muscle fatigue.

Young Children

The three (3) most common conditions which cause biomechanical issues in young children are Sever’s Disease, Osgood-Schlatters Disease and Growing pains. Orthotics can help to stabilize any excessive movement of joints, muscles and ligaments therefore relieving aches and pains, however we would recommended that you seek professional advice from your Podiatrist before purchasing Orthotics for the above conditions.

Diabetic, Rheumatoid, and Overweight

The above three (3) conditions can cause painful lower limb episodes especially in the feet therefore Orthotic therapy with extra shock absorption is encouraged such as the 2foot2 Comfort Plus.

What are 2foot2 Orthotics manufactured from?

Different materials are used in the manufacture of 2foot2 Orthotics which is dependent upon the activity that they are intended for. All orthotics have a top cover of Soft Brushed Nylex treated with Antibacterial Biocide helping safeguard against odour causing bacteria.
